If there is one specific technology that actually came from the military that almost everyone that has ever tried it simply cannot get along without it is the humble – yeah right – little Global Positioning System – GPS for short, as we all know it by. This is something that was developed for military use to help them pinpoint where the enemy was in connection with where the attacking or defending forces happen to be. This is something that not a lot of people are really all that aware of, but they need to be. The fact that GPS is now an integral part of our everyday lives is a large part of why there are so many GPS-based apps out there now.

How many times have you personally used a GPS device of any type – either on your laptop or mobile phone or a unit that is specifically a GPS unit – to get you where you are going safely? There are so many people out there that really do depend on a GPS unit in order to get where they are going – especially when they don’t know the area they are in – that this is growing by leaps and bounds.
